Dokkaebi Fire's Cheondo Company Sets 2027 Demo and Early Access
The 4-player co-op horror game is about 60% complete, with a closed test for Tumblbug backers planned for the end of this year.
Indie team Dokkaebi Fire has announced development plans for its 4-player co-op horror game Cheondo Company, including a demo at Steam Next Fest in February 2027, Steam Early Access in March 2027 and a full release targeted for 2028, according to gamemeca.com.
Set in a 2040 Korea where ghosts are an accepted part of daily life, the game casts players as new employees at a ghost-handling corporation called Cheondo Company. It combines deduction with a rhythm minigame that uses traditional Korean percussion instruments for the rite that sends spirits on.
The project is about 60% complete. A closed test for Tumblbug backers is planned for the end of this year, and the Early Access build will include 5 traditional ghosts, 4 maps and 10 anomalous phenomena. The developer plans to gather user feedback for about a year before the full release in 2028.
Dokkaebi Fire also plans to change its studio name to Heartquake. Choi Eunju, team lead and PM at the studio, oversees planning and programming.
Korean shamanism in a dystopian setting
In around September last year, the developer watched the films K-Pop: Demon Hunters and Pamyo and decided to blend Korean shamanism into a dystopian co-op horror game.
