Compensated Girl card battle game heads to Steam with Kodansha support

The free web version has been on unityroom for about a year, and players in Korea have asked for a localisation.

Compensated Girl, a card battle adventure game, is in development for an official release on Steam with support from Kodansha Game Creators' Lab, according to game.donga.com.

In the game, the protagonist pays things precious to her as the cost of using cards. Those costs include memories of her parents, her sight and her hearing, and paying them changes the presentation in real time — the screen can turn monochrome or the music can drop out.

The project is being made by two people: one handling planning and programming, and one handling art and scenario. It began at a one-week game jam held on unityroom, and the free version published there has been available for about a year.

The developers designed the game to be picked up through clicking and touching, without a complex tutorial. Korean users who played the free version have asked about a Korean localisation.
