Diablo 4 October 28 Patch Raises Splinters of Evil Stack to 99
Blizzard's patch notes for the October 28 Diablo 4 update also list stability, visual and UI fixes for the game.
Blizzard Entertainment has published the full patch notes for the Diablo 4 update arriving on October 28, which raises the stack size of Splinters of Evil from 1 to 99, according to Game Rant. The change represents a 9900% increase in how many of the items fit in a single stack.
Splinters of Evil are tied to the Prime Evils Baal, Diablo and Mephisto, and they influence end-game activities including Helltides, Nightmare Dungeons, Undercity and The Pit. Players previously obtained the splinters by defeating Prime Evil Echoes during Helltides and in Capstone Dungeons.
Beyond the stacking change, the October 28 patch brings stability, visual and UI improvements to the game.
The update lands during Season 15, Season of Hell's Legacy, which celebrates Diablo's 30th anniversary and brings back the three Prime Evils along with Deckard Cain.
Season 15 had a rougher launch than expected, with a short delay and numerous launch issues. As an apology, Blizzard quietly gave players 1 free Resplendent Spark through the in-game Horadric Post mail system. In October 2026, at BlizzCon, Blizzard also revealed Diablo 5 to fans.
