Blizzard Details Diablo 5's Demon Hunter and Plague Knight
Game director Joe Shely says the Demon Hunter returns with twin crossbows, while the Plague Knight is a brand-new class for Diablo 5.
Blizzard has released a new official statement in which Diablo 5 game director Joe Shely discussed the Demon Hunter class and how it bridges the series' past and future. The studio has confirmed three classes for the game: the Monk, the Demon Hunter, and the Plague Knight.
According to Shely, the Demon Hunter will be familiar to players of Diablo 3 while offering a new representation of the class. He also said the twin crossbows are returning for the Demon Hunter in Diablo 5.
The Plague Knight, by contrast, is a new class. Shely said it lets Blizzard explore ideas without the same debates that come with returning classes.
Blizzard had previously promised that Diablo 5 will have more classes than any previous game in the franchise. The studio has drawn on a long history with the series, which dates back to the original Diablo.
