Factorio 2.1 stable adds native ARM64 Linux support

Wube Software's 2.1 update also brings new assembling machines, a diagonal flamethrower turret and space platform planet backdrops, per GamingOnLinux.

Factorio 2.1 stable has been released, adding a native ARM64 Linux build alongside a set of quality-of-life and visual improvements, according to GamingOnLinux. The update arrived on October 23, 2026.

The ARM64 Linux build covers devices including the Steam Frame, headless servers on Raspberry Pi, and Asahi Linux running on Apple Silicon MacBooks.

Wube Software described 2.1 as mainly a polish release rather than one built around a single headline feature. Among the additions are new graphics for assembling machines, the oil refinery, the rocket silo and the heat exchanger.

The update also introduces a new pump rendering system that can connect to fluid wagons, a diagonal flamethrower turret, and planets shown in the background of space platforms. A new and updated trailer was released alongside it.

Carrying over work from 2.0

The developers said the update includes things they wanted to do for 2.0 but did not have time for. It comes two years after the release of the Factorio: Space Age DLC.
