Fields of Aaru demo joins October's Steam Next Fest

The open-world farming sim from Zymartu Games lets players explore early Nile areas, meet villagers and begin restoring the town in the demo.

A playable demo of Fields of Aaru is part of October's Steam Next Fest, according to gamerant.com. The open-world farming and life sim is developed by Zymartu Games and is set in the ancient Egyptian afterlife.

The demo lets players explore early areas along the Nile, meet villagers and begin restoring the town. The full game is available to wishlist on Steam and will be a PC-exclusive release at launch.

Zymartu Games may consider other platforms later if the game performs well on Steam. In Fields of Aaru, players use ancient crafts such as shaping stone, firing clay and irrigating fields to run their farm.

Players can also interact with Egyptian gods including Ptah, Hapi, Sekhmet and Anubis, and offerings grant powers. Sekhmet's blessings grant combat and adventure skills, while Hapi's speed up crop growth and make harvests more bountiful.
