Square Enix veterans say developers must master AI and keep human input

Hiromichi Tanaka and Yoshinori Kitase told Famitsu that the next generation of creators needs the ability to turn zero into one.

Square Enix veterans Hiromichi Tanaka and Yoshinori Kitase said in an interview with Famitsu that future developers will need to master the use of AI while keeping human creativity central, according to a translation by Automaton.

Tanaka, who worked on multiple Final Fantasy titles during his time at the company, said future creations will depend on how well people master the use of AI, and that the industry will become a competition of ideas.
