Azimuth 1.0 Brings Forza Motorsport 5, 6 and Horizon 3 to PC

Almost There Games released Azimuth 1.0 on October 27, 2026, an unofficial Xbox One compatibility wrapper that runs on PC and Linux and now supports the Xbox One versions of Forza Motorsport 5, Forza Motorsport 6 and Forza Horizon 3, according to wccftech.com.

The wrapper runs the games' original x86-64 code directly, translating Xbox WinRT calls to Win32 and Xbox DirectX 11.X to desktop DirectX 12. Almost There Games says the update delivers up to 40% higher performance with reduced stuttering through lower CPU and GPU overhead, while texture streaming improvements move texture mapping to a dedicated thread and pre-allocate memory to cut frame time spikes.

Azimuth supports resolutions up to 8K via supersampling, 21:9 and 32:9 ultrawide displays, frame rates above 60 FPS and HDR10. Players can adjust shadow quality, draw distance, environmental detail, reflections, car models and MSAA settings, and Forza Horizon 3 gets its original console HDR implementation and Xbox One X-level settings on the High or Ultra presets.

The redesigned launcher auto-discovers compatible games and offers per-game graphics configuration, save backups and photo galleries. Experimental racing wheel support with force feedback, H-pattern shifters and handbrakes was also added.

Almost There Games separately shipped hotfix 1.0.2 to address Forza Motorsport 6 crashes on AMD RDNA 4 Radeon RX 9000 GPUs and Proton issues. Azimuth is a free pay-what-you-want download on itch.io and requires users to supply their own game files; Xbox Live functionality is unavailable, so multiplayer and achievements are unsupported.

Earlier Forza support

The wrapper previously brought the Xbox One version of Forza Horizon 2 to PC. Forza Horizon 3 already had an official Windows release, and Microsoft launched a reduced version, Forza Motorsport 6: Apex, on PC in 2016.
