Square Enix Reworks Brave Exvius Into Single-Player RPG Resonance

FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE drops gacha and cuts the Vision roster from over 2,500 to 26, its producer and director say in an interview.

Square Enix is reworking its mobile game FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS into a new title, FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, developed as a classic single-player RPG without gacha mechanics. Producer Keisuke Nakashima and director Hiroto Furuya discussed the project in an interview reported by crunchyroll.com.

According to the interview, the battle system in FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE has been completely revamped from the version used in BRAVE EXVIUS.

The Vision roster has also been scaled down sharply: from over 2,500 Visions in BRAVE EXVIUS to 26 in RESONANCE. Nakashima and Furuya addressed both the roster and the combat system in their remarks.

FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS is now offline. The project follows Square Enix's earlier reimagining of another mobile title, OCTOPATH TRAVELER: Champions of the Continent, into OCTOPATH TRAVELER 0, which the company announced last year.
