FORCES' Hide-and-Seek Horror Game Launches on Steam January 28, 2027
The asymmetric multiplayer title pits four children against one oni in three-minute matches, and a free demo is available now on Steam.
FORCES announced on October 28 that its asymmetric multiplayer horror game Kakure Oni: Hide-and-Seek Horror will launch on PC via Steam on January 28, 2027, according to gamebiz.jp.
The game is built on the simple rules of hide-and-seek: up to five players are split between four children on the run and one oni as the pursuer, and each match lasts three minutes. A free demo is currently available on Steam.
Each side has its own abilities. The children can make themselves disappear in the dark with a "shadow hiding" ability, while the oni can locate them through walls with the "oni's eye". The children can communicate by walkie-talkie, but the oni can overhear their conversation when nearby.
Characters have different stats and traits, and the children can use cheap sweets to fight back against the powerful oni. After each match, the oni and the children take a commemorative "spirit photo" together.
