Hide-and-Seek Horror launches January 28, 2027
The asymmetric horror game supports up to five players, with a playable demo already available on Steam.
The asymmetric horror game Hide-and-Seek Horror will launch on January 28, 2027, according to 4gamer.net. A playable demo is currently available on Steam.
The game supports up to five players split into four children and one oni for a three-minute game of tag. Children can use a 'shadow hiding' ability to vanish in the dark, while the oni can detect children through walls with an 'oni's eye'. Children can coordinate over walkie-talkies, but the oni can overhear their conversation when nearby.
Children can use cheap sweets to counter the oni, and characters on both sides have different stats. After a match, the oni and children pose together for a commemorative ghost photo.
The demo was shown at Steam Next Fest, held from October 20 to 27. Based on feedback, the developers are improving the tutorial for controls and sweets usage, adding more items and photo types, strengthening lore through collectibles and scenarios, and planning a new map.
