GEEKS 2026 Games Showcase Set for December 11 at National Assembly

GEEKS 2026 (Game, E-sports, Entertech Korea Showcase) will take place on December 11, 2026, in the special exhibition hall on the 2nd floor of the National Assembly Members' Office Building, according to gamemeca.com.

The event is hosted by the offices of National Assembly members Mo Kyung-jong and Cho Seung-rae together with the GEEKS organizing committee, and organized by the K-Culture Forum. Its slogan is "Future of K-Culture."

The program centers on a joint graduation works exhibition by universities and on the GEEKS Awards finals presentation and awards ceremony. Participating universities preparing exhibits include Kyung Hee University, Kongju National University, Dankook University, Dong Seoul University, Dongyang University, Dongwon University, Baekseok Arts University, Sangmyung University, Shingu University, Osan University, Jaeneung University, ChungKang Culture Industry University and Hansung University.

Open competition for students, developers and startups

The GEEKS Awards is open to students, developers and startups with no eligibility restrictions, regardless of participation in the university exhibition. Submissions fall into a games division and an esports/webtoon/digital content division, and the deadline is 6 PM on December 3.

Teams that pass the first round may receive a finals presentation and booth demonstration opportunity, while winning teams receive certificates, prize money and mentoring. The 2026 awarding institutions, prize amounts and the detailed judging and operation schedule will be announced after confirmation. Works that won other competitions may be submitted, but prior award history must be listed on the application form, and commercially released works must include their release date and monetization status.

Kim Jung-tae, a professor at Dongyang University and chairman of the K-Culture Forum, said the challenges and experiments of young creators are the future competitiveness of K-content.
