Soulframe Opens Preludes Beta to All on November 6
Digital Extremes is dropping the invite requirement for Soulframe, and the Verse of the Veillands update arrives at the same time.
Soulframe's Preludes open beta will be available to everyone on November 6, 2026, Digital Extremes has announced. Once the beta begins, players will be able to download and play the game without an invite, according to Eurogamer.
The Verse of the Veillands update launches alongside the open beta and overhauls the game's map progression system. After an early quest, players are dropped into a corrupted landscape, the Veillands, which they must purify. Cleaning up the region unlocks new resources and side activities, including fishing, and players can also train a small wolf pet up into a full mount.
The update also adds a new Pact called the Ode Shrike. The class is built around trapping, using spikes, balloon snares, bombs and chains. Digital Extremes has said that further changes to the Veillands system are planned after release.
Three years of invites
Soulframe has been in closed testing for three years, with players getting in through sporadic invites, and the project has slipped several times since it was first revealed. During that period the game picked up a series of substantial updates, including new quests, Pacts and factions.
The open beta lands in a crowded week: World of Warcraft: Forever releases on November 4, 2026, two days earlier, while Old School RuneScape's Hardcore worlds open in the same week. Digital Extremes' other game, Warframe, heads to the Tau system in a major narrative update in December 2026.
