Genshin Impact 7.2 'Prologue of the End' Launches November 4
HoYoverse's update adds Mitya and Valerie as playable characters and opens eastern Snezhnaya, with train travel between New Kitezh and Old Kitezh.
HoYoverse will release Genshin Impact version 7.2, titled "Prologue of the End", on November 4, according to inven.co.kr. The update adds two new playable characters, Mitya and Valerie, and opens the eastern region of Snezhnaya.
Mitya is a 5-star Electro catalyst user whose kit converts Superconduct reactions into "Star Superconduct" and raises the party's damage from that reaction; her Elemental Burst deals Electro area-of-effect damage and generates additional special energy. Valerie is a 4-star Electro sword user and a Major of the Commissariat who provides shields and Electro DMG bonuses. In the first half of the version's Event Wishes the two debut alongside a Furina rerun; the second half brings reruns for Tartaglia and Lyney plus a new bundle wish that includes some Natlan characters.
A new Archon Quest and eastern Snezhnaya
Version 7.2 adds an Archon Quest about the seven nations jointly responding to a disaster across Teyvat. Completing it within a set period rewards 560 Primogems and Mitya's character ascension material, and a separate quest, "Ice Palace Decree", offers rewards including a Snezhnaya-themed Wind Glider.
In eastern Snezhnaya, players can travel by train between the underground city New Kitezh and Old Kitezh, the first city built by the White Tsar. Exploration introduces new pure-ice creations and two kinds of elemental shotguns for use against threats in contaminated Kresnik crystal veins. A new settlement story centers on Danika and Mitya, and a giant sea creature appears in New Kitezh.
A time-limited event tied to the Archon Quest has players rescuing wounded soldiers, delivering key information and carrying out special missions with companions from various nations. A photography event in Snezhnaya and a Natlan block-breaking event will also run, and in "Star Sea World" players can obtain a masquerade-themed lobby and a 4-star costume, with new components and assets for the stage editor.
