Unofficial God of War 3 Remastered PC Port Released

A fan-made native Windows port of God of War 3 Remastered is playable start to finish, but players must supply their own PS4 game files.

An unofficial fan-made PC port of God of War 3 Remastered is now available and runs natively on Windows from start to finish, according to Game Rant. Developer Felipe Prado said the project is playable from the opening through the final battle, with saves, audio, cinematics, and controller and keyboard support all working.

The port adds a 240 FPS engine patch, background shader caching, control remapping, save backups, optional FSR 1, and cheats. Prado reported averaging about 144 FPS at 1080p on an RX 6700 XT.

The project is in alpha and has texture issues above 1080p. Players need their own copy of the PS4 game files, because the release does not distribute God of War 3 Remastered itself.

Official God of War plans

God of War 3 first launched on PS3 in 2010, and Sony remastered it for PS4 five years later. More recently, 2018's God of War arrived on Steam in 2022 and God of War Ragnarok followed in 2024.

Santa Monica Studio confirmed earlier in 2026 that the original God of War trilogy is getting a remake treatment, with the project very early in development and no announced release date. God of War Laufey is heading to PS5 on February 16, 2027, with no PC version currently announced.
