GTA 6 Listed as Mature With In-Game Purchases on Rockstar Site

Rockstar's official website lists Grand Theft Auto 6 with an ESRB M rating and an In-Game Purchases disclaimer, matching GTA 5's descriptors.

Rockstar Games' official website now lists Grand Theft Auto 6 with an ESRB rating of M for Mature. The listing also carries an "In-Game Purchases" disclaimer.

The rating descriptors attached to the game are Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, and Use of Drugs and Alcohol. That list is identical to the one used for Grand Theft Auto 5.

An M for Mature rating has long been the series standard, with the original T rating for Grand Theft Auto 2 standing as a notable exception. Screen Rant reported the updated listing.

The "In-Game Purchases" label does not by itself confirm how Grand Theft Auto 6 will be monetized. In October 2025, Rockstar asserted that the game will launch without microtransactions, though it is locking a significant amount of content behind the $20 Ultimate Edition upgrade.

The online component is not arriving at launch. When it does land, potentially in 2027, it will introduce in-game monetization in the vein of Grand Theft Auto Online's Shark Cards.

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set for release on November 19, 2026. A remake of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time is launching on the Nintendo Switch 2 two weeks before that date.
