Hasbro Names Dan Ayoub President of Wizards of the Coast

Ayoub will oversee Magic: The Gathering, Dungeons & Dragons and games including Exodus and Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons.

Hasbro has appointed Dan Ayoub as president of Wizards of the Coast and Hasbro Digital Games, the company said on October 27, 2026. He takes charge of both divisions, including the Magic: The Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons franchises and a slate of games in development.

According to GamesRadar, Ayoub's remit covers upcoming titles such as Exodus, the science-fiction RPG in production at Archetype Entertainment, and Warlock: Dungeons & Dragons, a third-person action game being built at Invoke Studios.

Hasbro said Ayoub was selected after a search that evaluated dozens of internal and external candidates. CEO Chris Cocks cited Ayoub's understanding of the company's games and his record in team building as reasons for the appointment.

Ayoub said he was honored to lead the two divisions and pledged to put fans first while pursuing growth across tabletop and digital. He joined Wizards of the Coast in 2022 as senior vice president of digital games and Dungeons & Dragons.

Long tenure across major studios

Ayoub has spent 25 years in the games industry, including producer roles at Ubisoft and EA and an 11-year stint at Microsoft as studio head of Halo developer 343 Industries. He was most recently vice president and general manager at Certain Affinity.

Earlier in 2026, previous president John Hight announced he was stepping down from the role.
