Tolarian Community College Highlights Turn-3 Pioneer Combo With Jace's Machinations

The combo uses the Reality Fracture card alongside Kasmina, Enigma Sage to search for Enter the Infinite and cast Thassa's Oracle on turn three.

Content creator Tolarian Community College has highlighted a turn-3 win combo in Magic: The Gathering's Pioneer format that uses Jace's Machinations, a card from the Reality Fracture set, according to gamerant.com.

The line begins with casting Gran-Gran on turn one. On turn two, the player casts either Kasmina, Enigma Sage or Jace's Machinations, then casts the other on turn three. Jace's Machinations creates a Jace planeswalker token with 8 loyalty counters, while Kasmina, Enigma Sage grants all other planeswalkers its abilities.

Kasmina's -8 ability then lets the player search their library for an instant or sorcery card and cast it for free. The combo uses that ability to find and cast Enter the Infinite, drawing the entire deck except one card.

From there, the player plays two Mox Amber, taps them for Blue mana, and casts Thassa's Oracle to win the game.

Format Context

Gran-Gran is a recently banned Magic: The Gathering card in other formats but remains available in Pioneer. Reality Fracture came out two days before the article and kills off the planeswalker Jace Beleren. Magic: The Gathering's first set was released in 1993.
