Licensed Knightmare point-and-click game announced for PC
The free-to-play adventure is led by writer and designer Ewen Watson, with the original cast returning and a release planned for next year.
An officially licensed Knightmare point-and-click adventure game is in development for PC, according to Eurogamer. The game is being made by a team led by writer and designer Ewen Watson and is due to launch next year, free-to-play, to mark the show's 40th anniversary.
Show creator Tim Child has given the project his blessing. The release will be exclusive to PC and will not come to consoles.
The original cast is returning to voice their characters: Hugo Myatt as Treguard, Mark Knight as Lord Fear, Clifford Barry as Brother Strange, Edmund Dehn as Gumboil the Knight, Iona Kennedy as Greystagg, Paul Valentine as Motley and Alec Westwood as Folly.
One familiar piece of the show will not survive the transition. According to Watson, the players' life force meter has been removed from the game.
Watson says the game's art was drawn by hand, and estimates the adventure will take a couple of hours to finish.
From ITV to PC
Knightmare aired on ITV between 1987 and 1994. The show returned in a special one-off episode on YouTube 13 years ago.
