Kojima Posts Photos With Cate Blanchett, No MGS Casting Announced

Kojima shared three photos with Cate Blanchett on X and tagged her production company Dirty Films, but no Metal Gear Solid casting was confirmed.

Hideo Kojima posted three photos of himself with actress Cate Blanchett on X on October 29, 2026, according to comingsoon.net. Kojima captioned the post "With Cate Blanchett" in Japanese and tagged Dirty Films, the production company Blanchett co-founded with Andrew Upton.

Neither Kojima nor Blanchett announced a Metal Gear Solid collaboration or any casting plan. The post revived fan speculation that Blanchett could play The Boss in the Metal Gear Solid series.

That speculation is not new. Fans have discussed Blanchett as a possible choice for The Boss since at least January 2007. Kojima has previously identified British actress Charlotte Rampling as the model for The Boss's look.

Separately, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, a remake of the 2004 game, was released in August 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and PC.
