Curve Games is involved with the narrative deckbuilder set during the French Revolution, which features real French figure Lazare Hoche.
Lazare's Sacrifice, a narrative deckbuilder set during the French Revolution, has been announced with a release window of Spring 2027. The game is being made in collaboration with Damien Monnier, lead designer of Gwent, and Curve Games is involved with the project.
The card game focuses on the real French person Lazare Hoche. Players must sacrifice resources such as cards, board slots, or health to make plays stronger. They can also walk around Carmes Prison to attempt to escape, engage in cutscenes with multiple dialogue options, and pick locks to get new cards.
The announcement was reported by Rock Paper Shotgun.
Gwent was originally an in-world card game in The Witcher 3 that was spun off into its own game in October 2018. The Witcher 4 is expected to arrive in 2028 at the earliest.
