Lightyear Frontier 1.0 launches on PC and Xbox with new regions and flying mechs

Coffee Stain released Lightyear Frontier version 1.0 on November 5, 2026, for PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store, and for Xbox Series X|S, according to automaton-media.com. The game exited early access with the update.

Version 1.0 adds two new regions, Sandswept Highlands and Hollow Marsh, expanding the explorable world by about 40%. It also introduces new main missions and an ending to the main story.

Mechs can now fly, and a Hover Thrusters part lets players hover at altitude to seed large fields from the air. New equipment allows rapid-fire seeding and planting multiple seeds at once to increase harvests. The mech customization system was reworked into staged equipment upgrades.

A new automation system lets storage facilities supply resources directly to crafting facilities, with filters and up to three recipes per facility. The map now has a resource scanner and displays animal and trailer positions. Difficulty settings were expanded to four options.

Early access and discount

Lightyear Frontier launched in early access on March 20, 2024. According to the developer, cumulative players have now passed 2 million. On Steam, the game is 20% off at 2,720 yen tax included until November 13 and supports Japanese in-game text.
