Polygon unveils nine Magic: The Gathering Star Trek cards

The reveal includes two Saga cards drawn from Star Trek: The Next Generation, among them a green-white card named The Inner Light.

Polygon has exclusively revealed nine new cards from Magic: The Gathering's Star Trek Universes Beyond set, among them two Saga cards built around episodes of Star Trek: The Next Generation.

The Inner Light is a green-white Selesnya Saga named after the Next Generation episode of the same name. Its first chapter returns a green or white creature from the graveyard to the battlefield, the second grants a creature the ability to draw cards equal to the combat damage it deals to a player that turn, and its final chapter gains life equal to the greatest power of a creature you control and gives a Treasure token.

All Good Things… is a green-blue Simic Saga named after the Next Generation series finale. It lets the player draw two cards and then exile a card from hand for three turns in a row, and gains 10 life on the fourth turn if all the exiled cards share a type.

The set also includes Tenacious Drone, a common 2/1 black artifact creature that creates a 1/1 colorless Borg artifact creature token. Other cards reference the original series episodes The City on the Edge of Forever and Amok Time and Deep Space Nine's In the Pale Moonlight.

Star Trek Sagas use vertical art styled after stage playbills and posters rather than a single dramatic image, according to Polygon. The set draws on the franchise's 60-year history, including all its shows and films.
