Marvelous unveils new JRPG Eternal Anima at Nintendo Direct

The new IP was announced during the September Nintendo Direct and includes veterans of Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger and Persona 5.

Marvelous officially unveiled its new JRPG Eternal Anima during the September Nintendo Direct, according to nintendolife.com. The game is a new IP from the company.

The project lists several industry veterans among its staff. Katsuhisa Higuchi, who previously worked on Final Fantasy, Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross and Xenogears, is working on the game. Kazushige Nojima, whose previous credits include Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, is also involved, as is Keisuke Makino, who worked on Metaphor: ReFantazio and Persona 5.

The announcement follows a long silence around the project. In 2023, Marvelous revealed a working title named Project Life is RPG, a game intended to pay respect to the classics of the genre, with little shown beyond concept art.

Marvelous has not announced a release date for Eternal Anima.
