Switch 2 Minecraft compared with PS5 in new graphics video
ElAnalistaDeBits compared Minecraft's Switch 2 and PS5 versions, finding near-identical Vibrant Visuals but shorter render distance on Nintendo's console.
The YouTube channel ElAnalistaDeBits published a video comparing the graphics of the Nintendo Switch 2 and PlayStation 5 versions of Minecraft, as reported by gamespark.jp. The comparison set the PS5 version against the Switch 2 version's Performance Mode and Quality Mode.
In Quality Mode, the Switch 2 version reproduced several Vibrant Visuals effects almost identically to PS5, including leaf shadows under trees, the spread of sunlight and deep blue underwater tones. Render distance was the clearest difference: the PS5 version showed more distant mountains and forests than the Switch 2 in Quality Mode.
Frame rates also varied by setting. With Vibrant Visuals set to Quality, the Switch 2 version ran in the 30-40fps range in some scenes, while with Vibrant Visuals off or in the Performance setting it generally held around 60fps.
