Infinity Ward Details DMZ Mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4

The extraction shooter returns with its own map, Hajin, a level cap of 70, and a Forward Operating Base that grows as players progress.

Infinity Ward released the first details on the DMZ mode in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, outlining its mechanics and the new Hajin location, according to windowscentral.com.

DMZ is an extraction shooter built around a PvPvE gameplay loop, and Infinity Ward has said there is no planned PvE-only mode. Operators drop into the Exclusion Zone on Hajin, a map made specifically for the mode, to complete objectives, earn loot and extract.

The mode carries its own progression track with a level cap of 70, which unlocks Forward Operating Base stations and crafting recipes. The Forward Operating Base acts as the DMZ command center; it begins with five stations, and seven more unlock as players progress.

Infinity Ward also outlined Side Ops, Dynamic Operations, DMZ Orders and an After Action Report rated from F to S++. A second intel drop later this week is set to give a full tour of the Forward Operating Base.

An earlier attempt at DMZ

DMZ was previously tried in the Modern Warfare II era. Extraction shooter attempts were later made with Modern Warfare 3 Zombies and Endgame in Black Ops 7.
