MPFever mod brings co-op multiplayer to Transport Fever 3

The community mod lets players share one company, bank account and transport network, and is available to download now.

A mod called MPFever adds co-op multiplayer to Transport Fever 3 and is available to download now, according to PCGamesN. The project is still in active development.

MPFever lets players share one world on separate PCs over the internet or a local network. Everyone in a session shares a single company and bank account, with vehicles, roads and public transport shared and every action applied simultaneously.

Players who want to go their own way can split off into a separate company and compete on satisfaction ratings and city aesthetics, and can transfer cash to one another.

The mod also allows users to host an independent server with passwords and player limits, which the creator says fixes crashes and errors autonomously. It integrates natively with Steam for sending and receiving invites, compares worlds every 10 seconds and includes a chat function.

Requirements and background

All players need the same mods and the same game version installed to play together. Transport Fever 3, and other city builders like it, does not offer multiplayer in its base form; in PCGamesN's review, Theo gave the game an eight out of ten and called it a solid overhaul of a tried and tested formula. It currently sits at 'mostly positive' on Steam.
