Mycopunk Exits Early Access With 1.0 Update
The co-op looter shooter adds the Mycologist class, a new region called X11-B and the diffraction driver weapon.
Mycopunk has left early access and launched its 1.0 version, according to Rock Paper Shotgun. The online co-op looter shooter casts players as robot rejects fighting mushroom hordes.
The 1.0 release adds a new playable class, the Mycologist, with the abilities Sporelift and Fungal Skewer and a passive infection ability. A new mission called population control tasks players with clearing areas of high enemy density and fighting Abominations. A mini special assignment about rescuing a sofa was also added.
Among the new weapons is the diffraction driver, an ion scattergun that fires in a short-range cone and can be tightened and lengthened by spinning up its halo. A snowball grenade was added as well.
The update introduces a new region called X11-B on New Atlas' moonlet, which hosts difficult missions. Hats, sit emotes, an achievement system called fulfillments, a HUB rework and a drop pod redesign round out the additions.
The developers described the 1.0 additions in a Steam blog post. The game is currently discounted by 50%.
