NetEase Reveals ECC: Redline, Free-to-Play Shooter for PC and Mobile
NetEase Games unveiled ECC: Redline, a free-to-play extreme-sports tactical shooter for PC via Steam and mobile, with no release date announced.
NetEase Games has revealed ECC: Redline, a self-developed extreme-sports tactical shooter that the company says will be free-to-play on PC via Steam and on mobile devices. No release date was announced.
According to IGN, the announcement quickly drew accusations from players online that the game is a 1:1 rip of Call of Duty: Warzone, with comparisons pointing to similar guns, user interface, sound effects and camera behavior.
NetEase has not responded publicly to those comparisons, and no release window for ECC: Redline has been given.
Warzone's busy month
The comparisons arrive as Activision prepares to launch Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 later this month, with Warzone set to receive new updates alongside it.
Warzone was introduced in 2019 with the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot, and Activision later returned to the Verdansk map in an attempt to recapture the battle royale's early popularity.
