Nintendo Working on Zelda Switch 2 Restocks After Demand Surprise
Nintendo's Latin America VP said the company underestimated demand for the Zelda-themed Switch 2, priced at $519.99, and gave no restock date.
Nintendo is working on replenishing the sold-out Zelda-themed Switch 2 console after the company underestimated demand for it, according to a statement from Nintendo's Latin America Vice President and General Manager Bill van Zyll. The company did not give a date for the restocks.
Van Zyll made the comments in an interview with the outlet Coelho no Japao. According to his remarks, the shortfall in supply was a matter of demand running ahead of the company's expectations rather than a production halt.
The Zelda-themed Switch 2 is priced at $519.99 and does not include a copy of Ocarina of Time.
Best Buy is hosting a midnight launch for the Ocarina of Time remake, and some locations will also sell consoles at that event.
Timing around the remake
The Zelda-themed Switch 2 launches on October 29, 2026, a week before The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake arrives on Switch 2 on November 5, 2026. The Legend of Zelda series is celebrating its 40th anniversary in 2026.
After the Zelda Switch 2 consoles sold out, Nintendo updated its store page to tell fans to check back soon.
