Phantom Blade Zero tops Steam charts on launch day

S-Game's action RPG also hit Steam's second-highest concurrent player count, behind Counter-Strike 2, on October 29, 2026.

Phantom Blade Zero launched on October 29, 2026 and immediately became the top-selling game on Steam worldwide, according to PCGamesN. The S-Game title also recorded the second-highest concurrent player count on the platform, trailing only Counter-Strike 2.

Concurrent players passed the half-million mark within the first few hours of release. The game is the number one Steam seller in territories including the United States and the United Kingdom.

Game Director Soulframe Liang said he is deeply grateful to his team for their understanding and support. Liang noted that his first game as a student was the RPG Maker title Rainblood: Town of Death.

Credits behind the launch

Liang said art director Michael Chang drew the concept art for every character and most environments in Phantom Blade Zero. Music director Caisheng Bo created more than ten hours of music almost entirely by himself, Liang added.

In October 2025, three years before launch, the game made its debut during a PlayStation Showcase, after which S-Game canceled its other in-development projects to focus on it. PCGamesN's review of Phantom Blade Zero awarded it a perfect ten.
