pictSQUARE releases free TRPG floor-plan map tool
The tool builds grid-lined maps for mansions, hospitals, schools and dungeons, and exports them as PNGs for use in virtual tabletop tools.
pictSQUARE released a free tool for creating grid-lined floor-plan maps for tabletop role-playing games on October 19, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. The tool is designed for TRPGs and similar tabletop games.
The tool can automatically generate a map of a mansion, hospital, school, house or dungeon. When generating automatically, users can specify the building size and the number of rooms.
Maps can also be edited by hand: users can freely change the shape of rooms and corridors and the placement of furniture and doors, or build a map from scratch. Rooms can be named and text placed on the map.
Finished maps can be exported as PNG files, which can be used in tools such as the virtual tabletop platform CCFOLIA.
Maps made with the tool can be used in distributed scenarios without credit attribution. A sister tool for creating rooms is also offered by the same service.
