Pocketpair CEO says Palworld still hoped for Switch 2

Takuru Mizobe called the Switch 2 an amazing platform and said Pocketpair would welcome talks about a port, as a court gives a preliminary view on 9th November.

Pocketpair CEO Takuru Mizobe said the studio still hopes to bring Palworld to the Switch 2, according to Eurogamer. Mizobe said the studio would pursue the port if the opportunity arises, calling the console an amazing platform, especially for the Japanese games industry.

He added that Pocketpair would welcome discussions about bringing Palworld to the Switch platform. No port has been announced.

The comments come with the studio's legal dispute with Nintendo still running. The Tokyo District Court is set to issue a preliminary view on the Pocketpair-Nintendo lawsuit on 9th November. Nintendo has alleged patent infringement.

Earlier port talk

Mizobe had previously said that bringing Palworld to the original Switch would be difficult given the game's demands. One year later, Pocketpair communications director John Buckley told IGN that a Switch 2 port was worth considering if the console could handle the game.

Palworld has sold over 30 million copies since its release in 2024, and July's 1.0 update attracted almost 1 million concurrent players on Steam.
