Pokémon Go adds global Gigantamax Machamp Timed Research for Wild Area 2026

The free Timed Research is tied to the 2026 Wild Area events in Sendai and Mexico City and must be finished by the end of Nov. 15.

Pokémon Go has launched a global Timed Research called "Go Wild Area: Gigantamax Machamp Power Up!" alongside its 2026 Wild Area in-person events in Sendai, Japan, and Mexico City, according to Polygon. The tasks are available to players worldwide rather than limited to attendees.

The research asks players to explore 5 km and to catch a Pokémon on 2, 3, 4 and 5 different days. That day-by-day structure means the tasks cannot be finished in a single session.

Rewards include an encounter with Gigantamax Machamp, Machop Candy, Machop Candy XL, Max Particles, 30,000 Stardust and 10 Ultra Balls. Players must complete the research by the end of the day on Sunday, Nov. 15.

The Wild Area events also bring other Pokémon into focus. Duraludon makes its Gigantamax debut during Wild Area, and Dialga is one of the Dynamax targets.
