New Pokémon Winds & Waves Art Shows Gecqua, Pombon and Browt
Retro-style artwork tied to the series' 30th anniversary shows the three Winds & Waves starters alongside other starter Pokémon.
New artwork for Pokémon Winds & Waves has been shared showing the game's three starters — Gecqua, Pombon and Browt — alongside other starter Pokémon from the series, according to Screen Rant. The art uses a retro style tied to the franchise's 30th anniversary.
Gecqua is the Water-type starter, Pombon the Fire-type and Browt the Grass-type. The three are the only new Pokémon officially unveiled for the game so far, all shown in a single trailer, and the full evolutionary lines of the starters have not been confirmed.
Pokémon Winds & Waves is set for release in 2027 on Nintendo Switch 2. It was announced earlier this year as part of the series' 30th anniversary, with a tropical open-world region.
Concert tour artwork
In October 2025, the NHK Symphony Orchestra × Pokémon Classic Concert Tour featured new artwork of every starter Pokémon, including Browt, Pombon and Gecqua. The concert tour artwork was drawn by artist sowsow.
A mysterious countdown is also running to November 30, with no indication that it relates to Pokémon Winds & Waves. Nintendo, The Pokémon Company and developer Game Freak have not tied the countdown to the title.
