Only 100 copies of the Zorua promo card featuring Taniguchi's artwork were printed. Taniguchi drew the artwork as part of a 2010 contest celebrating the Japanese theatrical release of the Pokemon anime movie Zoroark: Master of Illusions. She was chosen as the Kindergarten Winner of the promotion and received prize money and a small print run of the cards featuring her art.

On the same day, a separate Fanatics Collect auction featuring Raincoat Pikachu sold for $8.4 million with 84 bids.
