PS5 cloud streaming launches in Korea on October 28
Sony Interactive Entertainment Korea says Premium members can stream PS5 games on the console and PlayStation Portal, with Deluxe renamed Premium today.
Sony Interactive Entertainment Korea announced that cloud streaming for PS5 games will launch in Korea on October 28. The service lets users play PS5 games over the cloud on the PS5 console and on the PlayStation Portal remote player.
The launch follows a change to the subscription line-up: PlayStation Plus Deluxe was renamed PlayStation Plus Premium starting today, and existing Deluxe members were moved to Premium at no extra cost. From October 28, Premium members receive cloud streaming alongside monthly games, online multiplayer, PlayStation Store discounts and cloud storage.
More than 300 supported games from the PlayStation Plus game catalog can be streamed, including Horizon Forbidden West, Ghost of Tsushima, Final Fantasy 16 and Hogwarts Legacy. Thousands of supported digital PS5 games that users own or buy from the PlayStation Store can also be streamed without downloading, among them Crimson Desert, GTA 5, Zenless Zone Zero and eFootball.
Resolution and limits
On PS5 consoles, streaming supports up to 4K (2160p) resolution at 60Hz in SDR or HDR. On PlayStation Portal, streaming supports up to 1080p at 60fps and works without connecting to a PS5 console.
The Korean service covers only PS5 games; PS4 and PS3 games are not supported. Only digital PS5 games can be streamed, not disc versions, and PS VR2 games are unavailable.
