PSA confirms FedEx truck carrying graded cards was burglarized

The grading company says it deactivated certificates for the stolen items and is working with FedEx and law enforcement on the investigation.

PSA has confirmed that a third-party FedEx truck carrying PSA-graded trading cards was burglarized after leaving the company's Southern California location, and said it is compensating affected customers while assisting the investigation. The grading company said it is working with law enforcement and FedEx on the case.

Collector SKY-B said PSA emailed him that his 104-card collection, worth more than $100,000, was among the items taken from the truck. SKY-B had hand-delivered the cards to PSA for grading at the National Card Show in July; he said the collection took more than two years to accumulate and cost $8,000 to grade.

PSA said it has deactivated the certificates for the stolen items and notified its marketplace partners. The company said affected customers will be compensated based on fair market value, up to each item's Maximum Insured Value.

Content creator and collector Boston Card Hunter compiled a list of 383 serialized cards allegedly stolen from the truck. He also said a major PSA dealer estimated that customers lost $500K of declared value.
