Programmer Releases Native PC Port of P.T. on GitHub
Lorean Xavier's PT-PC translates the original demo code for Windows and Linux and requires a dumped copy of P.T. to run.
Programmer Lorean Xavier released PT-PC, a native PC port of Hideo Kojima's P.T., on GitHub this week. The project is a native Windows and Linux client, not an emulator or a remake, and it does not contain copyrighted materials, according to PC Gamer.
PT-PC requires a dumped copy of the original P.T. to function and translates the demo's original codebase for PC. Xavier added modern graphical features and mod support to the PC version.
Xavier, 21, said the project has been in development since 2024. Dataminer Lance McDonald described it as a 1:1 port of the entire codebase. The project is not a modified version or fork of the shadPS4 emulator.
Xavier said he uses AI as a development tool for debugging, issue identification, and testing.
Background
In 2014, Hideo Kojima surprise-released P.T. on the PlayStation Network as a playable teaser for the Silent Hills reboot with Guillermo Del Toro. P.T. was delisted in early 2015 after Kojima and Konami had a falling out and Silent Hills was canceled. Lance McDonald datamined P.T. and discovered many of its secrets back in the day.
