PUBG: Final Circle card game announced with Kickstarter page

Krafton's battle royale franchise moves to the tabletop with a trick-taking card game; the Kickstarter campaign has no launch date yet.

PUBG: Final Circle, a card game adaptation of the PUBG battle royale franchise, has been officially announced, according to Polygon. A Kickstarter pre-launch page for the project is now open for sign-ups, though the campaign itself has no listed launch date.

The game condenses the battle royale format into several rounds. Players loot equipment, pick targets and try to be the last survivor, with a new battleground revealed each round. Each player also receives a character with a unique ability.

Combat uses a trick-taking mechanic in which players generally follow the color of the first card played. Higher-numbered cards are more likely to win but deal less damage, while harder-hitting cards carry more risk. Special cards can counter plays, and matching previously played numbers can trigger Ambushes.

Winners of a round choose their next target, and surviving players defend using scavenged gear and their character abilities.

Tabletop adaptations

Over the past decade, video game franchises including Resident Evil, Bloodborne, Stardew Valley and Superhot have received tabletop versions.
