Ratocalypse revealed: strategy RPG auto battler gets Steam demo, no release date

Ratocalypse, a strategy RPG auto battler with Fire Emblem-adjacent combat from the developers of Ratopia, has a playable Steam demo but no release window.

Ratocalypse, a strategy RPG auto battler from the developers of Ratopia, has been revealed with a playable demo on Steam, according to Rock Paper Shotgun. The game has no release date or release window.

The game stars anthropomorphic medieval rats affected by a zombie plague, and its combat is described as Fire Emblem-adjacent. Players design unit AI behaviour by slotting skills at specific points in a list, with conditions such as HP level or the number of units on the battlefield.

Skill targets, the number of targets and activation order before or after other skills can be customised for all units. A few abilities can be used to assist units during battle, and units can die easily.

The Steam demo offers several hours of play time. Ratopia, the studio's previous game, is a Terraria-esque title that came out last year and received an update as recently as this July.
