RibCage Games launches rhythm roguelite Alpha Nomos on Steam
Alpha Nomos uses unquantized rhythm combos and instrument weapons recorded with real musicians, RibCage Games said.
RibCage Games released its rhythm-action roguelite Alpha Nomos for PC via Steam on October 12, the studio announced. Itamar Berner commented on the launch.
The game is set in a ruined world where music has been lost, and players control the protagonist Cello. Combat is built on rhythm combos based on true press patterns, with no input quantization.
Its weapons, including the cello and xylophone blade, use sounds recorded by real musicians in a studio. Power-ups such as reverb, flanger and delay effects change both the combat style and the sound mix, and the soundtrack builds dynamically as the player improves.
The setting spans an uninhabited city and a mad circus, with fights against puppets that have come to life. The release was reported by gamebiz.jp.
