RiFF Studio unveils Dark Dimension taxi horror RPG demo at gamescom asia

RiFF Studio presented a demo of Dark Dimension, its first game based on an original in-house property, at gamescom asia x Thailand Game Show 2026, the studio and operator ASAP Corporation said at the event on October 29, 2026, according to 4gamer.net. The studio said it is still looking for a publisher for the project.

Dark Dimension is a taxi-simulator-style horror game with role-playing game elements. The protagonist is a taxi driver in debt to a loan shark and must earn money by carrying passengers to their destinations. Horror events, including ghost sightings, occur during rides, and a pale figure that looks long dead can appear in the rearview mirror.

The game is set in a Bangkok modeled on real locations, with pickup spots marked by yellow icons. The heads-up display shows the money owed to the loan shark along with stamina and sanity gauges.

RiFF Studio works mainly as an animation studio for films and series. Development of Dark Dimension began about half a year ago, including preproduction work such as design and modeling, and around 40 to 50 people are on the project, including a full modeling team plus art and animation staff. The studio described development as still being at an early stage.

Adicharth Sakulvoratham of ASAP Corporation explained the game and showed the demo at the event. The game's world can also be seen in an animation teaser RiFF Studio released on YouTube in September 2025, funded by Thailand's Department of Cultural Promotion and THACCA; the teaser is not game footage and describes rumors of people disappearing at night in districts such as Lat Phrao, Huai Khwang and Bang Kapi.
