This update follows a statement from Ubisoft brand director Loïc Gounon in June 2026, who confirmed that the long-delayed title remains in active development. The game was first announced by Ubisoft in May 2008.
As reported by Polygon.com, the project continues to move forward despite significant corporate challenges at the publisher. Ubisoft reported an operating loss of 1.3 billion euros for the fiscal year ending in March 2026, a period during which the company cut 1,200 jobs.
