Rockstar artist calls Grand Theft Auto 6 leaks invasive

Aaron Garbut told Bloomberg that seeing early work released publicly feels like someone is inside your head.

Rockstar Games artist Aaron Garbut described leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 as invasive in an interview with Bloomberg, saying that early work being released publicly is something nobody is supposed to see.

Garbut compared the feeling to someone wading through your dirty washing or being inside your head, according to the interview reported by Bloomberg.

His comments came the week after 25 minutes of new Grand Theft Auto 6 gameplay went live. Grand Theft Auto 6 is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026.

Rockstar has taken legal action against people responsible for leaks in the past, and the first major leak of the game occurred in 2022. A cryptocurrency-funded leak campaign calling itself "Cyberleek" demanded digital rights and more physical copies, claimed to raise funds for a secret project, and later died after its meme coin crashed about $20 million short of its market cap goal.

Grand Theft Auto 6 took 13 years to make, and Rockstar has said the tools and team built during this project will allow future games to be made more quickly.
