Rockstar and IWGB tribunal closing delayed to November
Closing submissions in the Rockstar Games and IWGB employment tribunal have moved from this Friday into November, with new dates on 17 and 18 November.
Closing submissions in the employment tribunal between Rockstar Games and IWGB union members have been pushed back from this Friday into November 2026, with two additional dates added on 17 and 18 November, according to Eurogamer.
The extension was granted partly because Rockstar's lawyers requested more time to cross-examine laid-off employees. IWGB is continuing to cross-examine Rockstar witnesses this week.
The 18 November sitting falls one day before the release of Grand Theft Auto 6, which is scheduled for 19 November 2026.
Background
In late 2025, Rockstar dismissed more than 30 employees for alleged gross misconduct; all of those dismissed were present in a union Discord channel. The IWGB says the firings were an effort to union-bust, while Rockstar maintains they were due to unauthorised sharing of information. Last Friday, one of the heads of Rockstar Lincoln said he was disinterested in evidence showing efforts to unionise before the firings, focusing instead on other matters such as a union Twitter account.
