Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition Hits Switch 2 Today
Aspyr shadow-dropped the port on October 22, 2026, with a 10% eShop discount running until November 4.
Aspyr released Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on Nintendo Switch 2 on October 22, 2026, without prior announcement, according to GameRant. The shadow-drop brings the 2018 action-adventure title to Nintendo's new hardware.
The Definitive Edition includes all base game content and DLC, among it seven challenge tombs, 2-player co-op and cosmetic items. Switch 2 owners can take 10% off the game on the eShop until November 4, and the same discount applies to the Tomb Raider: Definitive Survivor Trilogy bundle.
With the release, all three games in the Tomb Raider Survivor Trilogy are now available on Nintendo Switch 2 through Aspyr. Eidos Montreal developed the original game, and Square Enix published it.
Part of a busy Switch 2 release day
Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition was one of several titles to arrive on the platform on October 22, 2026, alongside Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, Final Fantasy Resonance and Nintendo Switch Sports Resort.
Shadow of the Tomb Raider first launched in September 2018 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as the 12th mainline entry in the Tomb Raider series and the closing chapter of the Survivor Trilogy. It received a Top Critic Average of 80 on OpenCritic and a critic recommendation score of 68%; in GameRant's review, Dalton Cooper scored it 8/10, praising its narrative, environments and puzzles while criticising its lack of replayability.
Aspyr has handled several Tomb Raider ports for Nintendo hardware. In November 2025 the studio shadow-dropped Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition on both the original Switch and Switch 2, and in June 2026 it released Rise of the Tomb Raider solely for Switch 2. In 2025 it also brought Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and Tomb Raider 4-6 Remastered to Switch and Switch 2.
