Smektala named executive director of Bloober's Broken Mirror Games
Former Dying Light director Tymon Smektala will lead the publisher, which is working on Saw: Genesis and Switch 2 title Onyx.
Tymon Smektala has been appointed executive director of Broken Mirror Games, the publishing subsidiary of horror studio Bloober Team, after 13 years working on Dying Light at Techland. He set out his plans for the label in an interview with gamesradar.com.
Smektala said Broken Mirror's aim is to find a developer with a small project and a strong vision, and to help that creator grow — possibly into a figure comparable to Hideo Kojima.
Bloober Team CEO Piotr Babieno said the company wants to work with content creators who approach horror from different perspectives.

Smektala spent 13 years on Dying Light at Techland and served as franchise director for three of those years. In October 2025, EA said Battlefield 6 sold 7 million copies in three days.
