Tiny Onion Announces Gridstorm, a 1v1 Card Game, for 2027
Something Is Killing the Children: A Gridstorm Game will hit Kickstarter in 2027, designed by Wayves Creative Co. with art by Werther Dell'Edera.
Tiny Onion announced Something Is Killing the Children: A Gridstorm Game, a 1v1 tabletop card battler based on the horror comic Something Is Killing the Children. According to Polygon, the game is set to launch on Kickstarter in 2027.
The game is designed by Wayves Creative Co., with art by Werther Dell'Edera, the series artist. Play is built around a grid-based battlefield where positioning and character-specific card effects determine the outcome.
An Erica Slaughter trading card will be packed exclusively with the Something Is Killing the Children #50 Cover C blind-bag variant. That variant goes on sale at comic shops on Oct. 7 and at Tiny Onion's New York Comic Con booth this weekend.
A franchise that keeps expanding
Something Is Killing the Children debuted in 2019 as a five-issue horror miniseries. Since then the franchise has grown to nearly 50 issues, the House of Slaughter spinoffs, a novel, a Webtoon adaptation, a DC crossover, and upcoming film and animated TV projects from Blumhouse. Michael Walsh, CEO of Wayves Creative Co., co-created Tiny Onion's Exquisite Corpses: The Game. Creator James Tynion IV has told Polygon he views each 15-issue chunk of the comic as a single Erica Slaughter novel.
