Take-Two legal warning shuts down NBA 2K27 fan build site GoatedBuildLab

JohnsGoated announced the shutdown on social media at 12:08 on November 3, Korean time, after Take-Two cited terms of service violations.

Take-Two Interactive, publisher of NBA 2K27, sent a legal warning to the fan-made build planning site GoatedBuildLab, and the site has now been shut down. The site was run by JohnsGoated, according to inven.co.kr.

Take-Two argued that GoatedBuildLab breached its terms of service by letting users learn internal game mechanics without the usual trial and error.

JohnsGoated announced the closure on social media at 12:08 on November 3, Korean time, thanking supporters who had followed the project over the past month and a half.

Why the builder mattered to players

NBA 2K27's MyPLAYER Builder raises attributes with VC, which can be bought with real money. On Steam, 15,000 VC is priced at 5,800 won and 35,000 VC at 12,000 won.

Cap Breakers raise the stat caps set by a player's height, weight and wingspan, but cannot be reset once invested in. GoatedBuildLab analysed in-game data so players could test stat combinations before committing VC.
